Seedance 2.5 API

Technical Specifications of Seedance 2.5

What Is Seedance 2.5?

Seedance 2.5 is an advanced AI video generation model developed by ByteDance’s Seed team, designed to transform natural language descriptions and visual references into high-quality video content.

Compared with earlier text-to-video systems that mainly focused on generating short visual clips from simple prompts, Seedance 2.5 emphasizes semantic understanding, cinematic composition, motion consistency, and creative controllability.

Main Features of Seedance 2.5

1. Native 30-Second Single-Shot Video Generation

A major improvement over previous Seedance generations is longer continuous generation.

Seedance 2.5 supports:

• Up to 30-second video generation
• Multi-shot storytelling
• Scene transitions
• Narrative continuity

This enables creators to generate complete scenes instead of combining multiple short clips manually.

2. Advanced Multimodal Reference Control

Seedance 2.5 supports large-scale reference inputs.

Users can provide:

• Character images
• Product images
• Style references
• Video references
• Audio references

The goal is maintaining:

• Character identity
• Visual style
• Motion consistency
• Brand elements

throughout generated sequences.

3. Improved Character Consistency

AI video generation often struggles with identity changes between frames.

Seedance 2.5 improves:

• Character appearance stability
• Multi-character scenes
• Long-shot consistency
• Object persistence

This makes it more suitable for:

• Advertising campaigns
• Story-driven videos
• Virtual characters

4. Audio-Visual Generation

Seedance models emphasize unified audio-video generation.

Capabilities include:

• Background sound
• Music synchronization
• Audio references
• Lip-sync style workflows

Seedance 2.0 introduced native audio-video joint generation, establishing the foundation for this direction.

5. Production-Level Video Editing

Seedance 2.5 supports iterative creative workflows:

• Modify generated scenes
• Preserve existing elements
• Adjust motion
• Refine details

Instead of generating from scratch repeatedly, creators can progressively edit outputs.

6. Cinematic Camera and Motion Control

Seedance 2.5 focuses on controllable cinematic generation:

Examples:

• Camera movement
• Scene composition
• Object interaction
• Complex motion sequences

This targets professional video production rather than simple prompt animation.

How to Use Seedance 2.5 API with CometAPI

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance Seed’s advanced AI video generation model designed for professional video creation workflows, supporting text-to-video, image-to-video, and multimodal reference generation. Developers typically interact with Seedance models through asynchronous video generation APIs: create a generation task, receive a task ID, poll the status, and retrieve the generated video after completion.

CometAPI provides a unified API access layer for AI video models, allowing developers to integrate Seedance-family models through a consistent REST interface instead of managing multiple provider SDKs and authentication systems.

Step 1: Get Your CometAPI API Key

First, create a CometAPI account and generate an API key from the developer console. Your API key should be stored securely on your backend server and never exposed in client-side applications.

Step 2: Create a Seedance 2.5 Video Generation Task

Seedance-style video generation APIs typically support multiple generation modes, including text-to-video and image-to-video workflows. The current Seedance API implementation uses asynchronous generation tasks; after submitting a request, the user receives a task ID and can then retrieve the generated video. Before using the API, it's recommended to test it on PlayGround.

Step 3: Build AI Video Applications

With CometAPI, developers can combine Seedance 2.5 with other AI models:

• GPT models for script generation
• Image models for storyboard creation
• Speech models for voiceovers
• Video models for final production

This creates a complete AI content production pipeline.
